Project Description
This project supports the Student National Dental Association (SNDA) at the IU School of Dentistry (IUSD) in launching its Impressions Program. Designed to introduce underrepresented pre-dental students to careers in dentistry, the Impressions Program has a long-term goal to provide greater community access to dental care. The program will strive to improve diversity at IUSD by identifying and mentoring students from minoritized backgrounds at the undergraduate level in pre-professional programs at IUPUI. It will create a mentor network and promote student engagement through co-curricular events focused on dental science. Additionally, SNDA members will gain important leadership and teaching experience through guiding the pre-professional students in activities such as taking dental impressions and other dental procedures.
