Project Description
This project calls for a three-day residential camp for high school juniors and seniors from underrepresented backgrounds to explore the variety of careers in health, tourism, and sports available at the School of Health & Human Sciences at IUPUI. Experienced SHHS faculty and current students will provide campers with career exploration and hands-on activities, and participants who enroll in SHHS following their camp experience will be eligible for special scholarships. Programs like this have been very successful in creating opportunities for students who may not otherwise be able to afford college, boosting recruitment and retention and putting students on a solid pathway toward their degrees.
