Project Description
Through this project, the Adaptive Educational Services (AES) Lab and Resource Center will support student success by transforming a conference room in the AES suite to expand space for testing accommodations and to create a sensory space for neurodivergent students. Because of a significant increase in student use over the past year, the AES testing lab, which provides a distraction-reduced environment, is currently at capacity. To alleviate this situation, the conference room will be equipped with movable desks to increase testing space. It will also include an area featuring a controlled and sensory-focused environment designed to serve students with autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, helping these and other students manage overstimulation and stress.
