August 23, 2021
Dear Students,
I am delighted to welcome you—or welcome you back—to IUPUI for the Fall 2021 semester.
Everyone at IUPUI wants you to feel welcome, included, and connected on campus. Special events throughout the semester and into the spring beyond will help you break the ice with each other, make friends, and find what you need on campus. In the first week alone, you can attend the Jaguar Statue Unveiling, enjoy Weeks of Welcome ice cream, or find your passion at the Student Involvement Fair. These activities don't stop after the first weeks of classes. We will be celebrating IUPUI Regatta live and in person on the Downtown Canal in September, and IUPUI Jaguar student-athletes will be back in action and out for victory all year long.
We're in this together, Jaguars, and all of us need to take care of ourselves and each other. We will wear our masks indoors to stay safe, make sure we are vaccinated, and stay home if anyone feels sick. Take a look at the IU COVID-19 website to find out the latest updates about staying safe and moving forward. You can also check out IUPUI Health & Wellness Promotion, IUPUI Student Health, and Counseling & Psychological Services or CAPS for resources that can help every step of the way.
Whether you are an incoming freshman or aiming to finish your doctoral degree, all of you have been through a great deal during this global health crisis. Your presence on campus signals your grit and determination. I want to congratulate you for your perseverance, and I join all of my faculty and staff colleagues in saying we will do whatever we can to support you.
