October 8, 2020
Dear colleagues and students,
We have reached the half-way point in the semester, and the results of our weekly mitigation testing continue to reflect the hard work our campus community is doing to fight COVID-19. Last week at IUPUI, only one individual tested positive out of 1,159 people tested; at IUPUC only one individual tested positive out of 89 tested; and at IU Fort Wayne nobody tested positive out of 102 tested. Up to this point, we have no known case of classroom-based transmission of the virus. We have to remember, however, that the number of daily positive cases statewide remains high. We all must continue to take this virus seriously.
As we look toward the end of the semester, let's double down on our effort to ensure safe physical distance, to wear masks, and to wash our hands and clean our spaces. Flu shots are a vital part of this strategy and are required for those working on campus.
Schedule your flu shot at IUPUI
We will be offering flu shots on campus starting in the next few weeks at IUPUC and IU Fort Wayne, so watch your email for more information. In addition, Purdue Fort Wayne will also be providing opportunities for flu vaccinations to those on campus.
Working together, we will get to the other side of this pandemic, and our campus will be stronger than ever.
Sincerely,
Nasser H. Paydar
