Luis E. Franco

Consul of Mexico in Indianapolis

Luis Franco

Biography

Luis Franco was appointed consul at the Consulate of Mexico in Indianapolis in October 2017. Prior to arriving in Indianapolis, he served as Mexican Consul in Salt Lake City. He has been deputy chief of mission at the Mexican Embassy in New Zealand, as well as at the Mexican Embassy in Sweden.

He has received foreign civil awards and decorations from the governments of Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Guatemala, Paraguay, Venezuela, Estonia, France, Italy, Luxemburg, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, and South Korea.

He holds a B.A. in international relations from the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a post-graduate degree in European-Latin American relations from the University of Florence in Italy. He has been a career diplomat since 1982. He is married and has two daughters.
