From the Desk of the Chancellor – November 5
We're taking a break from our strategic planning probe questions to encourage you to attend two events that have implications for planning IUPUI's future. This afternoon, the Higher Learning Commission has open meetings scheduled with faculty, staff, and students as part of the two-day site visit of the reaffirmation of accreditation team for IUPUI (details below). We completed a self-study [PDF] for the HLC, outlining our development since the last accreditation visit 10 years ago, which they wish to discuss in public forums with members of the campus community. And tomorrow, I give my annual State of the Campus Address at 4 pm in Campus Center 450C. I will talk about our progress over the last decade and what we need to do to create a new vision of IUPUI in 2025. Attending events like these will give you a broader perspective about IUPUI and stimulate our collective thinking about IUPUI's future.
We hope you will provide a warm and engaging IUPUI welcome to the 10-member HLC visiting team, which is led by Professor of Pharmaceutical Science R. Craig Schnell of North Dakota State University. The team members, who will meet with a wide cross-section of our campus community, also hail from a wide variety of universities across the country, including the University of Cincinnati, Northern Illinois University, Iowa State University, University of Sioux Falls, Michigan State University, University of Missouri-Columbia, Metropolitan State University (Minnesota), University of Colorado Denver, University of Colorado Colorado Springs, and University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
